Special Events

We run a comprehensive calendar of ‘Special ride events’. Follow this link to view the ‘Special Events Calendar’ for this year. Please read additional information below.

Extended Rides

These rides are at the normal speed but cover a longer distance. The emphasis is on endurance and not increased pace.
I

Guest start location rides

These are popular regular events where rides start a little further away from our usual base. It is amazing how new riding territory opens up starting rides for example from Chichester, Shoreham, or Pulborough. Details are published on our members’ only Facebook page.
I

Away Days

These are full day events and rides are usually ‘Extended rides’. These are not turn up and ride events and riders must inform the ride leader in advance that they intend to join the ride.
I

Step Up Days

These are the rides where we actively encourage members to join a new category of ride. Whether you are trying mountain bike riding for the first time or moving up to a more challenging road ride, you can bank on a warm welcome.

Angmering Cycle Club Residential Weekends

There are usually two or more weekend trips away each year. Typically we travel Friday, ride both Saturday and Sunday and return that evening. We try to visit riding locations that are suitable for Intermediate road riders and mountain bikers. Occasionally a trip is organised over a longer Bank holiday weekend.
I

Mountain Bike Off-Road Night Riding

We aim to run two NIGHT off-road rides per month March-October. NIght rides are suspended for safety reasons November-February. The schedule at present is 1st and 3rd Friday, meeting Angmering Village Green at 7.00pm. All rides will appear on the club schedule and additional information will be published by the ride leader on the members’ Facebook page. Note, rides may not finish in Angmering Village but close by at a local pub.

Rides will be matched to the prevailing ground and weather conditions. Typically of no more than 2hrs ride duration including rest stops. Riders should allow up to 3hrs to allow for briefing, equipment check and unforeseen mechanicals/incidents. Rides will be local and suitable for riders who are competent riding off road on bridleways and easy single track in daylight. The number of riders should ideally not exceed 10.

By taking part in a club night ride you additionally agree to:
